Entrance or exit?

I had to choose whether I wanted my gunshot wound to be an entrance or exit wound, an exit wound being from the side the bullet came back out the body and the entrance wound being the injury left from the bullet entering the body.

Entrance wounds are much smaller and neater looking than exit wounds and a more bullet like shape. They can have rings of a sooty substance around the area which is caused by burning gunpowder and cordite residue which are contained inside the bullet. Sometimes the spotted effect of the gunpowder spraying around wound and areas burning the skin as it goes, this is called 'tattooing'. Depending on the distance from the shot, entrance wounds can look like small little holes.

Exit wounds are much more unsightly, they can have shredded bits of skin, muscle, tissue and bone exposed. As the bullet enters the body it explodes inside destroying the tissue, muscle etc. They are very large compared to the entrance wound and bleed a lot more due to the size of them and all the damage that the bullet did before exiting the body through the exit hole.

As my partner Bekah is doing an exit wound, I decided to do an entrance wound so we could both research different kind of wounds caused by being shot by a gun and compare our outcomes.
